Masala Toasted Pumpkin Seeds

$10.00

In Ayurveda, where foods are grown, matters. When it comes to your microbiome; its best to get locally grown foods as much as possible, because your gut is constantly getting information from its surrounding environment.

The majority of pumpkin seeds sold in stores around the United States are grown in China. But Julie and Charlie Tilt, Owners of Hummingbird Wholesale, wanted to bring pumpkin seed production to their home in Willamette Valley, Oregon. In 2009, Julie and Charlie traveled to Styria, Austria to research cultivation of Gleisdorfer pumpkins -a delicious hulless variety grown in that region.

This organic Gleisdorfer pumpkin seed variety is now grown in Oregon! Its darker green in color, with white specks and they have a fresh, nutty flavor.

Pumpkin seeds contain vitamin E along with a host of additional antioxidants.

They are a very good source of phosphorus, magnesium, manganese, and copper, and a good source of other minerals including zinc and iron.

Pumpkin seeds are also a good source of protein.
